Indian golfer Singh performed pretty good

Singh has also twice won the Asian Tour Order of Merit crown, first in 2006 and also the again in 2008.

Last year's Avantha Masters produced a home-grown champion in SSP Chowrasia, and Singh believes it can be hugely positive for that game how the tournament is time for DLF Golf and Country Club for any third consecutive year.

"It's fantastic for Indian golf," the 40 years old told the Mizuno MP-59 Irons media while he readied himself for Thursday's New Delhi Tee-off.

"To use a European Tour event over a good course like the DLF for 3 years uninterruptedly is extremely good.

"Golf will be the fastest growing sport in your country and later on we're going to have a very much bigger tournaments plus a much greater prize fund.

"It will give small children who wish to start to see the top players an opportunity to come watching them, when they see their standard Titleist 910 D3 Driver  of play, they're going to understand what they have to work on.

"Everybody is hurting in the world, economically wise, but India continues to be hanging around there. India is actually really positive spell right now, so I hope that things will improve down the road."

Although Singh boasts four Asian Tour titles in their CV, he has never won on either Tour in the home country - something he could be seeking to put right now.

"It's always a reward to learn while watching home crowds and that i have a lot of support in the people here," he explained. "I'm looking forward to discount golf clubs .

"There's a lot of pressure but that is that which you play golf for. There are lots of young guys who're hungry and even prove themselves. Which is the way it needs to be. Only was at their shoes, I'd personally function as the same. They assert 'This 's what Jeev's done, I am going to attempt to do even better'."
